Hi From ACAYUCAN, VER, MEXICO
OK so i left Veracruz on the 26 and i rode 330km to acayucan i got here yesterday was going to leave today but a stomach infection struck, i think from not nowing how to use my filter or the filter is not so good, anyway it wasnt a clear running river, from now on when collecting water its all getting boiled had a tough nigh of vomiting and diarrea, had a bounch of limes so i kept purging with lime juice in water and this morning got some antibiotic to prevent any futher probs, feeling much better now, had a light breakfast. it also rained till about an hour ago, very heavy rain! so i guess it all works out ok. When i came back up to my room a couple hours ago everything was covered in dust it was preatty bad they were remodeling right outside my window and using a concrete saw, so they gave me a bigger room and with a nice walk out to a balcony hall with a nice view of town. The first night out of Ver. i camped under a bridge right by the river that was really nice made a fire and looked at the starry night the milkyway was in full view, even saw a shooting star!, the day after that as i passed Cosamaloapan, i found another great spot by a river under a bridge but when i was headed towards the shoreline i sank about 2" in thick sticky mud so it took me about an hour to get it all out, since i had to dissasemble everything off my bike rinse it as good as i could with puddle water and in the mean time getting destroyed by insects, so when i got back on the road it was dark and since the whole area is miles and miles of swamp land, i couldnt even stop cus the bugs would attack, so finally around 9 pm i saw a light in the distance, it was a run down little restaurant (truckers stop) with a few tables, and a hammock, the owner was Sheila "la potra zaina" pretty entretaining 30 year old big short momma! she said i could sleep in the hammok, and made me dinner, and let me take a shower! so that was great she only charged me for dinner, and she told me all the stories of all her many boyfriends! then i realized the bugs would not let me sleep, they were so many and stung really hard so i took my mosquito net and hung it from under the hammok, put my pad under that and finally got a few hours of sleep in between the truckers (3) who stopped in at 2 then one at 3 then one at 5am. So yesterday i was really weak probably starting to get sick, but i pushed hard and made it here, were i foun a hotel for about 20 bucks hot water, tv, and wifi, so not bad although i did head north for 6km and im headed south but 12km was worth finding an atm (had no money left) and food and a hotel. So tomorrow im headed south toward the Pacific, i hope to do the 106km to Matias Romero, or a bit further, will c, then i head south east mostly east to Tpachula, about 400km, and close to there ill be crossing in to Guatemala, ill post pics next! bye for now.
